Sedentary. 

ABUNDANCE
Common.

HABITAT
Pinewoods, dehesas and Holm-Oak woods, Mediterranean woodland and, in general, any type of woodland that is not too dense. Sometimes seen feeding in cropland and pastureland without any tree cover or scrub at all.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Year round presence. Its song period is very long, stretching from late summer through to the next spring. 

DISTRIBUTION
Evenly distributed throughout the whole area except in the campiña of Guadalquivir valley.

COMMENTS
One of the few diurnal birds also fond of singing at night, almost on a par with the Nightingale.
