STATUS
Migrant and summer visitor. 

ABUNDANCE
Scarce as migrant, very rare as breeder.

HABITAT
Flocks in flight seen on migration, rarely landing. Breeds in tunnel nests on sandy riverside banks.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Spring passage lasts from March to May, and post-breeding passage from July to October. The best months for seeing this species are March and August. 

DISTRIBUTION
The only known breeding site in the western half is Rivera de Alcalaboza, in Rosal de la Frontera. In the east there are colonies in Guadalquivir valley between C贸rdoba and Ja茅n.
