STATUS
Winter visitor and migrant with a few breeding pairs.
 

ABUNDANCE
Common in winter, very rare as a breeder (2-4 pairs).

HABITAT
All types of open areas with few or no trees, preferably with scrub-free ground. Also seen in clearings, crags, mines, farmsteads and in towns and villages. Rock breeder.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Easiest to see from mid October to late March. 

DISTRIBUTION
Ubiquitous in winter. The only currently known breeding spot, however, is Cerro del Hierro.

COMMENTS
Although this bird is such a familiar sight most of the year, in summer it becomes one of the rarest birds in the whole Sierra Morena.
