STATUS
Sedentary.

ABUNDANCE
Common.

HABITAT
Areas with little tree cover, such as patches of scrub, dehesas, cropland, pastureland, river valleys, meadows and dales, etc.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Year round presence.

DISTRIBUTION
Found throughout the whole territory.

COMMENTS
Recent taxonomic tweaks have changed its Latin name. Its habit of perching on fences and posts have won it fairly scatological local nicknames like cagaestacas, cagapalitos or cagarrope, i.e., “fence-post fowler”.
