STATUS
Migrant and summer visitor.

ABUNDANCE
Scarce.

HABITAT
Breeds on banks and shores of wetlands with dense cover of reed and reedmace or riparian thickets (Willow, Ash, brambles, Phragmites, Oleander, etc). On passage recorded in the same habitats but also in riverside woods and even scrub.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Passage birds pass through from mid March to May and from August to late October (sometimes until early November). Post-breeding records outnumber spring records.

DISTRIBUTION
No breeding records from Huelva; neither does it seem to breed in Seville. In C贸rdoba breeds on the mid reaches of River Guadiato and the Guadalquivir and in Ja茅n on this same river and the final reaches of the J谩ndula, as well as a small reservoir in Zocueca and, in all likelihood, in the lower reaches of the River Rumblar.
