ABUNDANCE
Common.

HABITAT
A typical bird of shady scrub, especially bramble patches, riparian thickets, hedgerows, etc. In general fond of any combination of trees and bushes, so also nests in the undergrowth of more developed woodland.
SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
A late arriver, not usually getting back to its breeding grounds until the second half of April. Most have left by September. 

DISTRIBUTION
More numerous in the western half than the eastern, numbers falling significantly or even greatly in much of the sierras of Ja茅n and C贸rdoba.
