STATUS
Rare summer visitor and migrant.

ABUNDANCE
One of the rarest regulars of Sierra Morena with only one known breeding site (at least 2 pairs).

HABITAT
Unwooded hills with low scrub.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
All sightings are made from April to September.

DISTRIBUTION
Known to breed only at Cerro del Guindo (La Carolina). Hardly any passage records through Sierra Morena, though birds are likely to pass through all four provinces.

COMMENTS
In the Iberian Peninsula this species occurs in semi-desert habitat, dried-up marshland, campiña and uplands, breeding above all among Thyme, in saline scrub and other low shrub formations. The first known breeding records in Sierra Morena date from the springs of 2010 and 2011.
