STATUS
Sedentary.

ABUNDANCE
Scarce.

HABITAT
Occupies olive groves, mixed woodland, dehesas, some pinewoods and orchards and some built-up areas. Perhaps also some abandoned mines.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Seen all year in its breeding areas.

DISTRIBUTION
The lion鈥檚 share of the population lives in Ja茅n and C贸rdoba, in olive groves down in the campi帽a and in foothills between Montoro and La Carolina, always in low numbers. A scattered distribution elsewhere in one-off sites like Ca帽averal de Le贸n, some dehesas of Hornachuelos and old orchards of Cazalla de la Sierra.

COMMENTS
A very scarce species that is little known and studied in Sierra Morena. Sometimes joins flocks of other sparrow species.
