STATUS
Sedentary, with some top-up from wintering birds.

ABUNDANCE
Abundant. Probably the commonest species in Sierra Morena.  

HABITAT
Very flexible, taking to the least wooded area.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Seen all year. Numbers increase between September and February. 

DISTRIBUTION
Abounds in all four provinces; in the breeding season not often seen in the biggest treeless areas and the cropland of the campiña.
