STATUS
Apparently sedentary breeder and winter visitor. 

ABUNDANCE
Uncommon in general.

HABITAT
Moves about opportunistically as fruits crop up. In winter it is regular in olive groves and Wild Olive copses, then moves into patches of Mediterranean scrub and pinewoods, as well as riparian woods, orchards and pinewoods. Known breeding sites are in pinewoods, Sweet-Chestnut woods, mixed woods and riparian woods and copses.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Seen all year; commonest in the winter months. 

DISTRIBUTION
Lives in the whole territory. More frequent in certain sunny areas of C贸rdoba, Seville and Ja茅n (Montoro and Adamuz, Viar valley, Sierra de And煤jar), where it can become fairly abundant in winte..

COMMENTS
Feeds mainly on hard seeds (fruit stones) such as cherry, European Nettle Tree, pine and Wild Olive.
