Hemmed in by two thickly scrubbed hills lies an extensive valley that it has won itself the simple name El Valle (The Valley). This almost flat landscape is watered by two streams: Arroyo del Ca帽uelo and Arroyo del Valle; its varied scenery combines Holm-Oak woods, riparian thickets, olive groves, orchards and patches of Mediterranean scrub, amidst a thriving crop- and animal-farming community. Star birds include Bullfinch, Great-Spotted Cuckoo, Orphean Warbler, Rock Sparrow, Bee-eater and Short-Toed Eagle, with drop-in appearances by Egyptian vulture.
