STATUS
Sedentary. 

ABUNDANCE
Abundant in general though fairly scarce in some one-off areas.

HABITAT
All types of woodland with clearings and open spaces. Breeds in dehesas, pinewoods, Cork-Oak woods, riparian woods and thickets in the campi帽a, etc.

SEASONAL BEHAVIOUR
Year round presence. 

DISTRIBUTION
Abundant and evenly distributed in Huelva and Seville. Numbers are lower in the sierras of C贸rdoba and Ja茅n and it is even rare in areas like J谩ndula and Yeguas valleys.

COMMENTS
One of the easiest raptors to spot; often seen perched patiently on telegraph poles or fence posts ready to drop on small mammals.
